Continuing their work with the roaring moon in their possession, though, they set it loose to sail above the treetops with a bellowing roar. Behind Fern, one their less imposing Salandit scuttled along, occasionally belching wisps of smoke and flame.

Clearly, it was eager to please because as they approached a small pond, it scuttled forward—intent on knocking away mareanie that was in Fern’s way. Launching forward, the little lizard sunk POISON FANGS into a fleshy part of the urchin-like creature. It squealed and fell back into the water.

The Salandit, though, quickly learned its lesson as it retreated back to Fern with a sore mouth from the mareanie’s sharp spikes. sighing, Fern scooped it up and tucked it in their arms. “Fierce little thing, aren’t you?” It cooed as they scratched it under the chin.

The little lizard hissed and spit burning EMBERS at the rodent, careful to keep a distance from this one unlike the last. “Very good!” they praised as they tossed a safari ball at the morpeko before it could hunger switch into its hangrier form.

From the skies, Meraxes watched Fern with the Salandit. It kept a close eye on them, shadowing its new trainer to keep them safe from threats.

Not that the chespin that watched from a nearby tree was really much of a threat. One sharp look from the low flying roaring moon sent it cowering into the branches and out of sight as the pair on the ground continued their move forward through the safari zone.

The drift of a floating koffing on the breeze was soon to catch his dragon’s eye next. From the ground, Fern couldn’t see too much at first. At least until Meraxes started to open its jaws for some sort of charged up attack.

“Ohhhh no ya don’t,” fern tossed a pokeball upward at the unsuspecting koffing before meraxes could actually fire off an attack. The last thing he needed was to accidentally destroy the safari zone because the roaring moon got more than a little over zealous.

Fern’s Salandit scrambled free again as Fern stretched his hands up to catch the pokeball that dropped from the air— now holding the koffing. Still eager to please, it tried to sink POISON FANGS into a safer target. The slowpoke certainly wasn’t as prickly as its prior opponent. The lizard was too small, however, to drag the lazy creature back to his trainer.

So instead it trill pitifully. On and on until Fern approached to toss a ball at Salandit’s new quarry.
